Homework Assignment Week 3 and 4

1.    Make 2 Target Splash Pages

Make them the same except for ONE MAJOR change only - such as:

  • The Headline

  • ONE "What's in it for me" benefit

  • Use of a banner or text link in reference to your "Call to action"

Put BOTH on a tracker (SEOSquid has an easy to use one) and record the results

Place each splash page in a minimum of 5 traffic exchanges and promote, promote, promote

(This process is called "Split Testing". Your ultimate goal is to find a control to test other splash pages you may make in the future as to their drawing power)

2.   Make 2 Key Phrase Blog Entries

  • Make 2 blog entries

  • A short story introduction often works to set the mood, as your blog is your relationship builder.

  • Include the keyword phrases used in your web copy as your blog is an up sell to your other material.

  • Do not cover the material that is in your call to action page or form-you may tease with these entries, but do not just replicate the information.

  • You may use any of the material already available to you concerning MoneyLegs such as the success formula pages, your referral page, swarm project, etc. just try to put the information into your own words.

  • Each blog has the right to THREE ADS. As you are designing your splash pages you will no doubt come up with some great ideas for subject headers. Try testing some of these extras as relevant ads along the side using a few of the main keywords in your web page, blog and splash page copy.

(This concept is much like adsense and getting used to writing ads and testing them will prepare you for next week's lesson)
